Going to the petrol pump is still expensive...
Both parties, shippers and carriers, are currently severely affected by this development and are under pressure.
The price increases affect the own calculation as well as the business very much.
Fuel prices are the cost driver for freight forwarding companies. It is therefore understandable that some of these additional costs have to be passed on to the customers.
From my point of view, it is important that clients and forwarders communicate openly and transparently with each other right now, so that no misunderstandings arise.

Are transport counter-deal agreements in the trade in construction machinery really the solution to finally getting the sale of the construction machinery under wraps, or are these agreements more like long-term mortgages?
The construction machine is specified after several discussions with the customer. In the second round, the terms of payment were negotiated, the sales price was already up - the contribution margin was in the basement. In the third round of negotiations, the customer still demands the option of paying 10% of the sales price in WIR and if that weren't enough - finally the transport counter-deal claim.
... in the trade in construction machinery, it can happen that the customer requests such an agreement with the sale of one or more construction machinery.
But does this make sense? We say no!
Under no circumstances should you make such commitments that you cannot keep in the agreed time anyway.
Because let's be honest - you as a dealer or lessor of construction machinery must be free to choose with whom you carry out your transports.
It is also a fact that you as a construction machinery dealer are always compared with your competitors when doing business - technically but above all in terms of price. It is therefore in the nature of the entrepreneur that offers (have to) be compared.

If a suitable machine is available, the rental company's disposition is now required to organize the transport within a very short time❗️

We have ideas every day. I already had a lot of ideas. I'm sure you've had a few. Most people have ideas. They just never put them into practice consistently enough.
The idea for transpora.io came about in my previous job as a dispatcher for construction machine transports at my former employer.
The idea was there, but how do I put it into practice? It takes work - lots of work. Ideas don't become reality by themselves, that was clear to me.
I met my business partner Ben 🛰 Stuber when I was studying business administration at the PHW in Bern. Ben comes from computer science, he had already gained experience in the platform business in his own projects - Ben was immediately convinced of the business model, a good prerequisite for taking further steps.
Hour-long discussions followed at school, via Microsoft Teams and telephone in the evenings after work and on weekends what the next steps should be.
New ideas emerged.
This is where goal setting came into play. When you set yourself a concrete goal, write it down, internalize it, your mind gets going. So we defined what needs to be DOED to turn this idea from dream to reality.
Then came the action plan. What do we have to do to make this idea a reality? Who do we need to speak or work with to achieve the goal?
Questions upon questions, the answers developed during the implementation, during the DOING.
🟢 We are still at the very beginning - the implementation of ideas is challenging, but if you believe in your idea(s) and, most importantly, work on them, they can become reality.

In my previous job at one of the largest construction machinery dealers and rental companies in Switzerland, I was able to gain a lot of experience in the field of #construction machinery scheduling and organization of #construction machinery transports for around 7 years.The time required to find the best transport partner was always a new challenge. Because the #short-term nature in most cases did not allow us to obtain at least one counter-offer, on the one hand to evaluate the market price and on the other hand to benefit from possible empty trips by forwarders.
The fact is that...
✔ As a result, the potential of possible empty runs could not be fully exploited
✔ that's why the prices tended to be too high
✔ the market was inefficient and sluggish
These facts show that a good partner network of forwarding companies was and still is essential. Because the logistics costs for construction, rental and retail companies are still a major cost driver that dispatchers have to keep under control.
Basically, the challenges were and still are (still) the same, because the construction machines had to be
